Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor takes police to court over his arrest in the Epstein files case
The Telegraph reported on Sunday that the former prince has launched a judicial review against Thames Valley Police over his February arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office. ABC, the Herald, The Age, The Nightly and Reuters carried the story, and Reuters said it could not immediately verify it. The challenge is understood to concern the search warrants used at Sandringham and Royal Lodge. He was released under investigation after about 11 hours in custody and denies wrongdoing. A hearing is expected on Thursday. Police and the Palace did not comment.
It is rare for a member of the royal family to ask a court to rule on the lawfulness of police action against them.
None directly.
The Thursday hearing will show whether any part of the case is made public. These are allegations; he has not been charged.
