Sydney unit rents and Brisbane rents hit new records, and tenants 'have hit breaking point'

The Herald and The Age reported record rents for Sydney units and Brisbane, which the headline says is entering the red zone. The ABC cited data showing renters have hit breaking point. Domain's June-quarter figures had Sydney unit rents at a record $780 a week with a 1.1 per cent vacancy rate. The AFR reported that outer Sydney and Melbourne have been hit hardest by rate rises.
