Police release images of an e-bike rider and arrest a 13-year-old over six reported sex offences on Narrabeen walking trails
Police received six reports this month of alleged sexual offences against women on walking trails in the Narrabeen area of Sydney. Police released photos of an e-bike rider they want to speak to. A teen, 13, was later arrested after police investigated the alleged offences, according to reports published late on Saturday 17 October. The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Brisbane Times and WA Today carried the story. Police described the string of assaults as very concerning. No charges were stated in the summaries reviewed.
Trails around northern beaches suburbs are used daily by runners, riders and dog walkers, and women in the area have been the targets of these alleged offences. An arrest does not mean every report is resolved, and police are still asking for information.
If you use trails in the area, tell someone your route and avoid walking alone at quiet hours for now. Anyone with information can contact police or Crime Stoppers, and anyone who was affected should report it even if it seems minor.
Six reports in a month on one stretch of trail is a pattern, and the arrest is a start, not a conclusion. Do not assume it is over until police say it is.
