Record-low vote share for the PQ revives calls for electoral reform

The Parti Québécois won with the lowest vote share ever for a winning party, and that has revived calls for electoral reform, CBC News reported. Liberal leader Charles Milliard does not close the door to a change in the voting system, according to Radio-Canada, which also reported that the CAQ will name an interim leader on Oct. 17.

The system turned 28% of the vote into 59 of 127 seats.

No change soon. Any reform would need a bill and a minority government's support.

Watch whether the PQ takes up reform, which it has historically supported.
