Canadians stranded after the Panama earthquakes
CBC reported a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Panama on Friday; Panama declared a state of emergency as aftershocks rattled communities, CBC and CTV News said. CP24 and CTV reported Canadians, including a Montreal mother and daughter, said they felt abandoned. TVA and La Presse said a television shoot was suspended. We did not see a Canadian government statement or a casualty count.
Canadians travelling in the region may need consular help when flights and roads are disrupted.
If you are in Panama, register with Global Affairs Canada and contact your airline.
The key facts to watch are the consular response and the casualty figure.
