Quebec closed 746 immigration files by mistake after a software glitch
Radio-Canada, Le Devoir and the Journal de Montréal reported that Quebec sent closure notices on 746 immigration files in error after a computer glitch. Applicants described being in tears. We did not see how the files will be restored or how long it will take.
Immigration files decide permits and jobs, so a wrongful closure can disrupt a family's status.
If you have a Quebec immigration file, check its status and keep your documents.
Watch for a government statement on reopening the files and deadlines.
