Canada's Wonderland and La Ronde close coasters after a death in Georgia
A man died on Monday after being ejected from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, near Atlanta, and struck other patrons, AP and BBC reported; the National Post said four others were injured. Six Flags closed nine coasters in North America, CTV News reported. Canada's Wonderland, run by the same company, closed Leviathan and Behemoth, and La Ronde in Montreal closed its Goliath, the National Post, CBC, Global News and Radio-Canada reported. The parks said it was a precaution. The cause has not been given.
Closures of similar rides across a chain suggest a design or safety question that investigators have not yet answered.
If you planned to visit Canada's Wonderland or La Ronde, check which rides are open.
Watch for the investigation's findings and for when the Canadian rides reopen.
