A man is charged with murdering his wife, a Norfolk GP described as a doctor to the royal family
Mark Cain, 45, was charged with murdering his wife, Dr Hannah Terry (Hannah Cain in law), whose body was found at their home in Dersingham, Norfolk, after police were called shortly after 2.20am on Sunday. A post-mortem recorded blunt-force head injuries and neck injuries consistent with compression. She had three children. He appeared in court and spoke only to confirm his details, and was remanded in custody to a plea hearing provisionally on 3 December at Norwich Crown Court. Reports say she was a doctor to the royal family; this has not been confirmed by police or the CPS.
The case raises the question of domestic homicide, which is rarely out of the news.
If you or someone you know is at risk, contact the police or the National Domestic Abuse Helpline.
Reporting on this case should stay within the charge and the court record.
