Vance says Iran must make a 'meaningful' cut to enrichment to end the war

The Independent reported Vice President JD Vance saying Iran must "do something meaningful" on its nuclear programme to end the war, a softer line than the earlier demand for no enrichment. Tehran says Washington must lift its port blockade first. US outlets reported that Secretary of State Rubio said Iran has lost control of the Strait of Hormuz. Oil traded near $100.

A move from zero enrichment to a meaningful cut leaves room for a deal, but the two sides disagree about the order.

Energy prices and gilt yields are exposed to any breakthrough or breakdown.

A concession is only a concession if Iran accepts an order of steps; watch for that.
