Chelsea thrash Bournemouth 5-1, Arsenal come from behind, and ten-man Spurs hold Manchester United. Liverpool host City today
Chelsea beat Bournemouth 5-1, Jordan Henderson scoring twice on his home debut. Arsenal beat Leeds 2-1 at the Emirates with a Bruno Guimarães goal, and the Evening Standard and talkSPORT said a player was carried off afterwards. Manchester United drew 1-1 with Tottenham at Old Trafford after Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off for a headbutt on Luke Shaw and Dominic Solanke equalised in stoppage time. Brighton won 2-0 at Sunderland, Ipswich beat Fulham 2-1 and Aston Villa drew 2-2 with Brentford. Today Liverpool host Manchester City at 4.30pm BST on Sky Sports, City's first match since being found guilty of breaking Premier League financial rules, which they are appealing.
The title race and the City verdict are the two threads of the season, and United's slow start puts their manager under pressure.
If you watch on TV, the City game is on Sky Sports, and Match of the Day on the BBC covers Saturday's games.
United's supporters see a poor start and a drop in standards.
Others note that United led and were undone by a stoppage-time goal against ten men.
Watch City's response at Anfield, Arsenal's injury news and any early indication of the appeal timetable.
