A man dies after jumping into a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, which stays closed
A man died at the weekend after jumping into the Siberian tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the BBC, CBS, Sky News and the Evening Standard reported. Sky quoted police saying he was visiting alone. The park has stayed closed, and the Telegraph and the Standard reported that the local council has opened an investigation.
Zoo safety rules and enclosure design come under scrutiny after any fatal incident.
Check the park's website if you had a booking; it has not reopened.
The council investigation will decide whether the design of the enclosure or the response of staff is examined.
