Federal agents search the Washington home of Rep. Ilhan Omar
AP, NBC and the Washington Post reported that federal agents searched the Washington home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Democrat, and NPR said the Justice Department approved the warrant. AP described a criminal investigation. Reuters, citing Fox News, called it an immigration raid. The descriptions conflict.
A search of a sitting member of Congress is rare and political weeks before US midterm elections.
It matters to Irish readers mainly as US political news.
Wait for the charges, if any, and the Justice Department's own statement.
