Jio Platforms files its final prospectus; the record IPO opens on 21 October

Reliance's Jio Platforms filed its updated prospectus for what Reuters calls a record India IPO, with the offer opening on 21 October (Reuters, The Hindu, AajTak, Jagran). AajTak says the filing was made in Ahmedabad and Akash Ambani is leading the issue. TradingView reports that a price band has been set; the figure is not in the headlines we saw. The Economic Times carries a piece on how Jio transformed Indian telecom, and Religare tells Moneycontrol that a listing could trigger a 47 per cent upside in Reliance Industries stock.

A very large listing can draw money away from other shares and puts Jio's finances under public scrutiny.

If you plan to apply, read the prospectus for the price band, lot size and risk factors first. A broker's upside call is not a forecast.

Watch the price band, which has not yet reached us, and the subscription figures on the closing day.
