Bursa reopens today facing a new Budget, two Riyadh strikes and a ceasefire headline
Bursa Malaysia reopens on Monday. The last confirmed FBM KLCI close was 1,601.01 on Thursday 8 October, down 10.77 points (Bernama); Friday’s close could not be confirmed. On Friday in New York the S&P 500 rose 0.59% to 7,811.54, the Nasdaq Composite 0.64% to 27,366.17 and the Dow 0.83% to 51,654.95. WTI settled at US$91.85, up 0.39%, and gold rose 1.43% to US$4,216.3. Reuters reported Saudi stocks slid after the Riyadh attack.
Monday is the first trading day after the Budget, the Riyadh strikes and the ceasefire post, so it will show how investors read all three.
Little to act on. Fuel and imported-goods prices follow oil and the ringgit over weeks, not hours.
The ringgit and KLCI Friday closes are missing because DailyDrop could not confirm them from two sources.
