Chery Malaysia recalls two Omoda 5 variants after sales suspension

Malaysiakini reported that Chery Malaysia issued a recall for Omoda 5 variants C and H after the Road Transport Department (RTD) suspended them. The Straits Times reported that Malaysia suspended sales of the Omoda 5 after a viral incident and that Singapore cars are not affected.

A regulator’s sales stop followed by a recall affects owners’ safety and resale values.

If you own an Omoda 5, check whether your variant is covered and wait for the dealer’s notice.

DailyDrop did not find the fault described in detail in what it saw; the viral incident is only referred to.
