Air Force corrects Ondo crash toll to 25 and publishes the names as mourning continues

The Air Force confirmed 25 dead in the Igbokoda crash, five crew and 20 passengers, correcting the 32 given by the aviation minister (AP via ABC News and Canberra Times; Nairametrics; Frontier Brief). It released names of the victims. Tinubu declared three days of mourning from October 6 and ordered an investigation. No cause has been given.

A single count from one authority is the minimum families can expect. Publishing names allows relatives to confirm and reduces rumours.

Share only names published by the Air Force or a family. Avoid circulating crash images that may be old or from other events.

The Air Force says the correction and the names show it is being open with families.

Critics ask why two officials gave different numbers within hours and call for an independent inquiry.

The count is now settled at 25 by the owner of the aircraft. The cause is the open question. Watch for the investigation panel's membership and any interim finding.
