GCash owner Mynt prices its IPO at ₱6.60 a share; public offer opens Tuesday, listing set for October 20
Mynt set its IPO price at ₱6.60 per share (GMA News, Philstar, The Star Malaysia). The base deal is about 8.03 billion shares worth ₱53 billion and up to ₱60.9 billion with overallotment. Bookbuilding closed several times oversubscribed. The public offer runs October 6 to 12 and listing is expected October 20 as GCASH. The ₱10 figure was an "up to" ceiling, not the price.
It is billed as the largest listing in Philippine history and a test of investor appetite while the PSEi sits near multi-month lows.
If you have a GCash account you may be offered shares in the retail portion. Prices can fall as well as rise after listing, so treat it as an investment, not a freebie.
A well-subscribed offer at a modest price could bring fresh retail money into the stock market.
A weak market, a weak peso and a huge deal size raise the risk that the shares struggle after listing.
Watch the retail subscription numbers from October 12 and the first-day trade on October 20. A listing that opens near ₱6.60 and holds would say more about market mood than the price itself.
