Rain bands over Metro Manila and the south; Typhoon Koguma stays outside the Philippine area
The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and a low-pressure area (LPA) are bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the country, including Metro Manila, PAGASA said, with possible flash floods and landslides (Manila Times, GMA News). Typhoon Koguma was outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and not expected to enter or directly affect the country. The LPA had a very low chance of becoming a tropical cyclone within 24 hours.
Heavy rain on saturated ground raises landslide and flood risk.
