Government says no march on Islamabad “under any circumstances”: containers, a Section 144 ban and a warning on Articles 232 and 234

Naqvi cited an Islamabad High Court order and said violators would be pursued one by one. Containers block access roads; a two-month Section 144 order issued on 18 September bans gatherings of five or more. Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said governor’s rule or an emergency could be imposed if the Constitution requires; sources spoke of Articles 232 and 234 (Al Jazeera, ARY News, Asia News Network, Geo News).

Articles 232 and 234 deal with emergencies and failure of a provincial government.

Possible road closures and communication restrictions.

Officials say it is about public order.

PTI calls it intimidation.

Talking about Article 234 is a signal; imposing it would be escalation.
