Omani foreign minister visits Islamabad for two days
Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Oman’s foreign minister, arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for an official visit on 13 and 14 October, Business Recorder reported; Geo said he came at Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s invitation and was expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the Express Tribune carried the visit. Separately, FinancialJuice relayed that the foreign ministers of Iran and Oman discussed Yemen by phone.
Oman is a go-between in Gulf diplomacy, and Pakistan is under pressure over the Saudi–Houthi war.
No direct effect, but the talks may shape Pakistan’s Gulf diplomacy.
Watch whether Wednesday’s meetings produce any statement on Yemen. The agenda was not published in the reports we saw.
