US suspends Microsoft from a key green-card programme for foreign workers
Vice-President JD Vance said the US was suspending Microsoft from the PERM programme used to sponsor foreign workers for green cards, Reuters and AP reported. CNA reported that green-card applications by Microsoft, Adobe and Infosys were frozen over alleged fraud. The FT said Microsoft was barred from sponsoring foreign workers for US residency.
It is a sharp tool in US immigration policy aimed at named companies.
