Musk vows affordable Starlink in India days before Ambani's record Jio IPO
Elon Musk said Starlink, the satellite internet service of SpaceX, will be affordable in India, days before the record initial public offering of Jio Platforms, the Reliance telecoms arm controlled by Mukesh Ambani, the Straits Times, CNA and Al Jazeera reported. The Straits Times noted mobile data prices in India are among the world's lowest. The Week reported that Indian government officials called claims about a licence "blatantly false".
A cheap satellite rival would challenge incumbent telecom firms in a huge market, and the clash lands just before a record share sale.
