North Korea test-fired a tactical ballistic missile on Monday, state media KCNA said on Tuesday, adding that the test confirmed a technical upgrade of an important core element of the missile without giving details (Straits Times, CNA). Japan, the US and South Korea urged North Korea to halt provocations after the test (Kyodo via Japan Wire). Separately, CNA reported that Kim Jong Un showcased a missile described as capable of reaching the US, and the Straits Times reported that Mr Trump floated a possible meeting with Mr Kim during an Asia trip.
