Opposition to file censure motion against individual ministers today at 14:00, targeting more than 10 ministers linked to the Senate collusion case

Thai PBS and The Standard reported on Oct. 7 that it would be filed with the House Speaker under Section 151, while Post Today said it could be 12 people and stressed ministers from the Bhumjaithai quota

Thai PBS and The Standard reported on Oct. 7 that opposition parties are preparing to file a motion requesting a no-confidence debate against ministers individually, under Section 151 of the Constitution, with the Speaker of the House of Representatives at 14:00 today (Oct. 8). The targets are more than 10 ministers linked to the fraud case over the selection of senators, or “Senate collusion.”

Post Today said it could be 12 people from the Bhumjaithai Party, and that the debate would also cover the flood problem, viewing the vote as a gauge of the Pheu Thai Party, a coalition partner. By law, a motion of this kind must be co-signed by MPs numbering at least one-fifth of the House’s members.

The actual number of target ministers and the actual allegations will become clear once the motion is filed. The debate date depends on the House Speaker and on scheduling with the government. Reports before filing still use different figures (10 and 12), so DailyDrop has not confirmed the names. Readers should wait for the actual text of the motion and for statements from the ministers named.
