USS Abraham Lincoln docks in San Diego after more than 320 days at sea

The carrier strike group's flagship returned to San Diego Bay on Thursday after a record-setting deployment, which outlets counted as 321 or 322 days. NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, the Guardian, AP and the Los Angeles Times covered the homecoming and the reunions. NBC and the LA Times noted scrutiny of conditions aboard.

The length of the deployment tested ship and crew, and it overlapped the Iran war.

For families of sailors, the end of the separation; for taxpayers, a question about carrier availability.

Look for the Navy's review of conditions aboard.
