US licence lets Russian diesel into the country until April 2027
The US Treasury's sanctions office issued a general licence allowing the sale, delivery, offloading and import of Russian-origin diesel into the US until April 2027 (The National, NPR member stations). One Italian report described it as a six-month suspension, which does not match.
It loosens sanctions on Russian fuel for the first time during the war.
No direct effect in Ireland.
