Avi Gil, Netanyahu’s military secretary from December 2022 to May 2024 according to the Times of Israel (CNN gives a different date), gave his first interview, on Channel 12 on October 8. He claimed that the head of Netanyahu’s office tried to alter an official record of October 7, that the answers to the State Comptroller were misleading, and that this was a pattern of criminal conduct. Netanyahu denied it, and the Likud called it propaganda. Yashar! appealed to the Attorney General, and Liberman demanded an investigation on suspicion of treason. Gil did not confirm a warning from Egypt or the Emirates.
Claims from an insider in the Prime Minister’s Office strengthen the demand for a state commission of inquiry in the final weeks of the campaign, but they are not legal proof.
The matter will be decided at the ballot box on October 27; undecided voters would do well to read the reports and both sides’ responses.
Netanyahu’s supporters see the interview as a political move ahead of the election, and recall the denial.
Critics see Gil’s words as inside testimony that should be examined in an independent investigation and not ignored.
Gil’s claim is material for an investigation, not a verdict. Follow the Attorney General’s decision, the State Comptroller’s response, and one question: will documents be published that support the claim.

Netanyahu’s former military secretary: “a pattern of criminal conduct” in the Prime Minister’s Office; Eisenkot demands a criminal investigation, Netanyahu denies
Avi Gil, who was the prime minister’s military secretary on October 7, gave his first interview, on Channel 12. The Likud calls his remarks propaganda, and the election is 18 days away.
In his first interview since the massacre, published on Channel 12 on October 8, Avi Gil, Netanyahu’s military secretary from December 2022 to May 2024 according to the Times of Israel, claimed that the head of the Prime Minister’s Office tried to alter an official record of October 7. He described this as part of a “pattern of criminal conduct” in the office and said that Netanyahu’s answers to the State Comptroller were misleading. He said he had kept silent in order to testify before a state commission of inquiry.
Netanyahu denied it. According to reports, he said that Gil knew of the coming attack and did not wake him in time, and he called the remarks an attempt to conceal his failure. The Likud called the interview part of a false, politically driven propaganda campaign. Gil did not confirm that Netanyahu had been warned by Egypt or the Emirates, but said that the visit of Egyptian intelligence had a reason.
Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar! party appealed to the Attorney General to examine whether Netanyahu lied to the State Comptroller, and called for a criminal investigation. Eisenkot pledged to set up a state commission of inquiry after the election. Avigdor Liberman demanded that an investigation be opened on suspicion of treason and conspiracy. DailyDrop found no decision by the Attorney General, and Gil’s claims so far remain without legal verification.
