NTSA opens probe into Salama crash; autopsies set for Sultan Hamud

The National Transport and Safety Authority opened a probe into the crash that killed 17 on the Nairobi–Mombasa highway and labelled the Mlima Kiu–Salama stretch a black spot. Autopsies were set for Sultan Hamud Hospital (The Standard).

The probe will say whether speed, overtaking or vehicle failure caused the crash, and may lead to recommendations for the road.

Drivers on this stretch should expect tighter checks.

No official cause has been announced; DailyDrop will wait for the authority's findings. One outlet so far.
