Russian glide bombs kill at least 15 in Zaporizhzhia hours after Trump's diesel deal with Putin

A Russian glide-bomb attack on Zaporizhzhia killed at least 15 people on 10 October (BBC; CBS News, Al Jazeera and ANSA also reported deaths). Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram that Russia "thanked" the US for easing diesel sanctions with the bombing. Ukraine struck a Russian fuel site hours after the deal (Al Jazeera). The Mirror and CBS reported that Trump signed the diesel deal after Zelenskyy ignored his requests to halt refinery attacks.

It links the Ukraine war to fuel markets and to US sanctions policy.

If Russian diesel returns to world markets, it could ease diesel costs; if the deal is reversed, prices could stay high.

Washington says the deal is to ease diesel prices and push for de-escalation.

Zelenskyy and critics say it rewards Russia and weakens sanctions.

Death tolls rose through the day; DailyDrop uses the BBC's "at least 15".
