Deputy Speaker Ramli Mohd Nor announced that the Budget 2027 second reading begins at 3.30pm on Friday 9 October instead of 4pm (Malay Mail, Bernama). Bernama’s schedule: policy-stage debate for eight days from 12 to 22 October, ministerial winding-up 26 to 29 October, committee stage 2 to 26 November.
The schedule shows that Budget 2027 is likely to pass by late November, as in past years.
Decisions on tax, aid and subsidies will be known on Friday but debated for weeks.
Government says the schedule leaves enough time for scrutiny.
Opposition MPs usually say committee-stage time per ministry is short.
