Family confirms the death of gospel singer Toluwanisings
The family of the Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings, announced his death on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 (Punch, Vanguard, Leadership). Vanguard said the family made the announcement on his Instagram account and that he died in the early hours of Wednesday; Leadership said the news reached the public in the afternoon. BBC Pidgin profiled him as known for energetic praise songs and Yoruba-inspired worship music. The reports DailyDrop saw give no confirmed cause of death.
His death came after reports of it had Nigerians praying (BBC Pidgin), and shows how quickly unconfirmed reports can spread before a family speaks.
If you saw the rumour, the lesson is to wait for the family's own statement, as the outlets above did.
Grief is not a cue for guesses about cause. Wait for the family or a hospital to say more.
