National would cut long-term Jobseeker rates by about $48 or $24 a week from 2028
National's package would lower Jobseeker rates for long-term recipients by about $48 a week for singles without children and about $24 for those with dependent children, at current rates, applying from 1 April 2028 to people on the benefit for two years (ODT, 1News). Reports differ on timing.
It changes incomes for the long-term unemployed.
