DAILY DROP · domestic + global · one page a day
DailyDrop puts the day’s news on a single newspaper-style front page. Tap only the stories you want; each one unfolds into what happened, why it matters, two ways of seeing it, and the sources.
Our promises
We show our sources. Every story says where we checked it. A ✓ means we read the original from the issuing body, or that at least two independent outlets agree (the number shows how many). Anything we could not confirm is kept apart.
We give both sides. Each story sets out the different views, and our own take is labelled separately so opinion never mixes with fact.
Tap a word you don’t know. Dotted words open their meaning and why they matter in that story. They add up, every day, in our Glossary.
Publishing
The New Zealand edition publishes one front page every morning at 6:00 a.m. local time, with domestic and global news. We never reprint article text: only our own summaries and links to the sources.
How DailyDrop is made
- What we publish — for each country we pick the day’s most important news and publish it as one front page at 6 a.m. local time.
- How we check — “Source ✓” means we read the original from the issuing body; “Press ✓” means at least two independent outlets agree. Anything we could not confirm is kept apart.
- What we add — we never reprint other outlets’ text. We compare reports and rewrite them as what happened / why it matters / for me / two ways of seeing it, and add a meaning and “why it matters here” to hard terms.
- How we use AI — we use AI (Anthropic’s Claude) to gather and compare reports, draft and translate. DailyDrop sets the editorial standards and is responsible for the result.
- When we get it wrong — once we confirm an error we fix the story and note what changed, and when, below it. Corrections: contact@dailydropnewspaper.com
