Auckland’s mayor tells the Eden Park boss to “stick to the facts” over post-match train delays

Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown responded to criticism from Eden Park chief executive Nick Sautner over train delays after Saturday’s test (NZ Herald), telling him to “stick to the facts” (Stuff, RNZ). Stuff reported fans were left waiting after the game because of a problem at a level crossing. The All Blacks beat the Wallabies 50-19 (RNZ).

Getting a crowd home from a stadium tests the city’s transport, and who is to blame is disputed.

If you are going to the next big match at Eden Park, leave extra time for the trip home.

Brown says the facts are different; the fix is a shared account of what failed.
