Marcos arrives in Singapore for a working visit built around investment talks
President Marcos arrived in Singapore on the night of October 7 for a five-day working visit, Philstar and the Manila Times reported. The trip includes the 24th Forbes Global CEO Conference, where he spoke about investment prospects, and an invitation from Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to the Singapore Grand Prix from October 9 to 11. The Philippines is in the final stretch of its ASEAN chairmanship; the 49th ASEAN Summit is set for Manila on November 15 to 17.
Foreign investment is a central part of the government's growth strategy at a time of inflation and a weak peso.
Deals announced on the trip may affect jobs and prices over time.
Look for signed commitments, not announcements.
