Calabarzon wage board approves a raise of up to ₱45 a day from October 26

The regional wage board for Calabarzon approved a daily minimum wage increase of up to ₱45 effective October 26, Philstar reported on October 10. Current rates range from ₱508 to ₱600 a day. DailyDrop has seen the order in one outlet and has not checked the wage order text.

Wages are trying to catch up with 7.2 percent inflation.

Workers in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon should check the wage order for their sector.

A ₱45 raise is about 8 percent of a ₱550 wage, close to the inflation rate, so purchasing power gains are limited.
