IceCube sits in a cubic kilometre of Antarctic ice and records flashes from neutrino collisions

IceCube is a detector buried in about a cubic kilometre of ice at the South Pole. It records the faint light made when a neutrino collides with ice (nobelprize.org, Free Press Journal, GDN).

It lets scientists trace neutrinos to sources outside the galaxy.

Pure science.

A long project rewarded.
