KSE-100 recovers 2,593 points to 168,460 as political tension eases and oil slips

The KSE-100 closed at 168,460.11 on Tuesday 6 October, up 2,593 points or 1.56%, reversing Monday’s fall (The Express Tribune, Business Recorder). It touched 165,651.67 around midday before recovering. Analysts cited easing political tension and lower oil prices. The rupee closed at 277.05.

A one-day full recovery shows that Monday’s fear was about headlines, not fundamentals.

Investors who sold on Monday would have missed the rebound.

Brokers say dip-buyers returned.

Sceptics note the Hormuz and political risks remain.

Do not read too much into two days. The real test is Thursday’s announcement.
