Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Houthi attacks on the Riyadh and Abha airports on 9 October and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement (Arab News, ARY News, Radio Pakistan, Minute Mirror). Saudi civil aviation authorities reported three dead and 36 injured, including a Pakistani. ARY reported 42 Pakistani flights cancelled.
The first public test of the August defence pact, with a regional war and Pakistani nationals at risk.
